Lebanese-Style Spiced Fish with Tahini (Samke Harra-Inspired)

A single portion of Lebanese cooking, ready in 21 minutes with 9 minutes of prep. Written for one, so there is nothing to halve and nothing to waste. It brings some heat.

Method

    Heat the oil in a frying pan and fry the fish for 3–4 minutes each side until just cooked. Remove and keep warm.

    Whisk the tahini with the lemon juice, garlic and a splash of water until smooth and pourable.

    In the same pan, soften the onion and pepper with the chilli and cumin for 4–5 minutes.

    Taste and adjust the seasoning.

    Spoon the tahini sauce over the fish, top with the onion and pepper mixture, and scatter with pine nuts and coriander.

Use up the rest

Cooking this for one leaves 25 g coriander, 100 g white fish fillet and ½ red pepper. These recipes finish them off, so plan one later in the same week.
